 Ullapool Fish Week

 Boatbuilding Project 2005
Ullapool Fish Week 2005 sees another exciting boat project in the form of a project being undertaken again by Ullapool Boatbuilders. Witness the final touches being put to the Jubilee - a Sgoth belonging to Ness Historical Society, Isle of Lewis.
We also hope to have two other Sgoths in Ullapool during Fish Week - the An Sulaire from Stornoway and the Oigh Niseach  from Raasay, along with the Loch Fyne Skiff - The Clan Gordon.

One of the highlights of Ullapool Fish Week 2004 was the launching of the community boat "Wee Hector" . With best wishes sent from the community in Pictou, Nova Scotia and thoughts of the original Hector which sailed from these shores, the Wee Hector was lowered into Loch broom, cheered on by a huge crowd of well-wishers.
The photos below show various stages of her build by Ullapool Boatbuilders and also photos from her launch and maiden sail!

Wee Hector has been sailed in Loch Broom over the summer and has also been on display at various boat shows around the UK, helping to promote the area. She will also play a large part in Ullapool Fish Week 2005 and we look forward to seeing her on the water again.
